The Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) is the branch of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) responsible for the maintenance, repair, and recovery of all mechanical and electrical equipment.

RCEME personnel are trained to support military operations by ensuring equipment is in working order, conducting repairs in the field, and providing technical expertise.

The Corps was created on May 15, 1944, during After the World War II., RCEME continued its mission of equipment maintenance and repair during peacetime and subsequent military engagements, including the Korean War, Cold War, and various peacekeeping missions. Over the years, RCEME has adapted to the advancements in technology and changes in military operations, expanding its capabilities to cover a wide range of equipment, from tanks and vehicles to aircraft and electronic systems.

The RCEME’s Mission: The Corps of RCEME will provide technical leadership and land equipment engineering expertise to keep equipment fit for purpose and in the fight to sustain successful CAF operations.

The RCEME’s Role: To provide the necessary Land Equipment Management Systems (LEMS) and technical leadership to enable success in CAF operations across the spectrum of conflict.

Teal Up is a Canadian initiative that honours the resilience of Canadian military children during the Month of the Military Child. Military families often move frequently, causing children to leave behind schools, activities, and friends. Despite these challenges, military children continue to thrive.

Teal Up Day is celebrated on the last Monday of April, encouraging everyone to wear teal to show support for military children. The campaign began in April 2021 in Shilo, Manitoba, inspired by the U.S. "Purple Up" celebration. Shannon Chapman and Stephanie Laviolette from the Shilo Military Family Resource Centre initiated this idea to give Canadian military children their own special day.

The colour teal was chosen to represent all branches of the Canadian Military: blue for the Air Force, green for the Army, and blue/white for the Navy. Since its inception, Teal Up has expanded to over 30 locations across Canada.
